MARATHON RPC is designed to work with load and position sensors, mounted on polished rod, however, controller is able to control the well status without them, in so-called sensorless mode with some reduction in accuracy of calculations. MARATHON RPC is also able to integrate with various well equipment such as downhole pressure and temperature gauges, echo sounders etc. using their data for calculation and/or transfer it to remote computer. Also MARATHON RPC can be used as means of measuring of oil production rate, that eliminates the need to install separate flow meters and/or expensive downhole measuring equipment. MARATHON RPC allows to control the well in manual and automatic modes. Automatic control is performed by complex algorithm based on mathematical model of the well in order to achieve maximum accuracy and stability of parameters calculation and maximum reliability of pumping unit.
MARATHON RPC supports Modbus RTU, integrates with SCADA, while also being a full-fledged network device (supports TCP/IP protocol) accessible through a Web-based interface. Controllers are able to unite through a variety of means of telecommunication (FM, GPRS, Wi-Max, etc.) into a single network, that allows getting information about state of all oil production facilities, creating a smart oilfield.
